Categories In The WP Job Portal!
Categories
From your admin dashboard, navigate to Admin Dashboard → Dashboard Menu → Categories. You will find various options for managing categories on the Categories page.
- This page has all the categories defined in the system.
- Admin can filter categories based on category name and status (published, unpublished). When the admin uses a filter only categories that fulfill his provided criteria are shown on the page. The reset button will disable filter criteria and show all categories.
- At the top left of the page, there are action buttons to perform various operations on single or multiple categories (using checkboxes). The available buttons include Published, Unpublished, and Deleted.
Key features include:
- Category title is text on how the category will appear in the combo box or as the value on (views and listings).
- Default means the category will be selected by default (on page load) on forms.
- Publish status controls whether the category will be visible in a combo box or not.
- Ordering means what will be the sequence of the categories in a combo box.
- Published, unpublished, default, ordering for user or visitor can be changed by a single click for all
categories except certain categories.
Sub Category
- This is how a subcategory is gonna appear, the difference between a category and a subcategory is
subcategory title will have ‘|–‘ as a prefix. - Subcategory if a subcategory will have this prefix (|–) twice and so on.
Additionally, there’s an option to “Add New Category” at the top right of the Categories page.
Change Fields Ordering
You can also adjust the order of your categories on the job form, determining the sequence in which the categories appear in the combo box. After modifying the field order and saving the changes, the job form will reflect your preferred ordering.
